Antibiotic resistance HGT

Trex-online

Antibiotic resistance HGT program allows you to identify horizontal transfers of antibiotic resistance genes between bacteria. All the data are taken from ARDB - Antibiotic Resistance Genes Database.

You have to select an antibiotic, a corresponding antibiotic resistance gene and the list of species (at least 4). The program will infer a species tree (using the GenBank taxonomy) and a gene tree (using GenBank and accession numbers from ARDB). The gene tree sequences are aligned using MUSCLE and the gene tree is inferred using RAxML. The HGT-Detection algorithm (Boc et al. 2010) is then used to infer horizontal gene transfers.
